Metal parts to virtually 100% original finish, some salt and peppering on the frame and some recent staining that should clean up very nicely. The checkered walnut grip panels are in good condition with sharp checkering and no cracks or chips. 6 shot oval fluted blued cylinder. 3" octagonal blued barrel. The frame retains a high percentage of its original colour case hardening, left of frame fitted with safety catch. 7 ½" overall length. Fitted with a Lanyard ring. Belgian proof marks. Mechanically perfect, the action with flawless timing and lock-up. Pat May 27, 79. The date: MAY 27. 79 refers to George W. Cilley’s patent no. 215,721 for a firearm improvement. This patent was issued to George W. Cilley on that date the invention alludes to an inexpensive method to fit the “cylinder hand” into the hammer – Reference – Hopkins & Allen Revolvers & Pistols by Charles E. Carder. With 2.75" Barrel, 7.25" overall. 80% nickel finish. Some light wearing to left hand side of main frame, barrel and cylinder (see picture). Finely checkered gutta-percha grip panels. Near perfect in the action, timing and lock up. Webley Velo-Dog Revolver in Mint condition.A spectacular Velo-Dog revolver in mint condition. Top Strap marked “THE WEBLEY-LEBEAU-COURALLY, CO LTD LIEGE-LONDON, THE NOCTAMBULE”. 1902-1908 Webley joined forces with the Belgian firm of Lebeau –Courally, known as the Purdey of Belgium; trading under the name of The Webley-Lebeau-Courally Continental Firearms Company Limited, with a London address at 1 Lower James Street, Golden Square. The name of the revolver The Noctambule translates as the Night Walker. The pistol is fairly standard configuration for a Velo-Dog, with a five shot cylinder, gate loading & a folding trigger. The fold out ejector rod is slide into the cylinder arbor pin when not in use. Black hard rubber grip panels with fine checkering. The barrel and cylinder are exquisitely blued. The frame with colour case hardening. All metal parts retain nearly 100% original finish. Belgian proofs to barrel, cylinder and frame. 1½" barrel, 5½" overall length. Mechanically flawless.
